As I end my series on Pittsburgh, I am reflecting on the beauty of the city. Pittsburgh has long been one of my favorite cities aesthetically. The city thrives at the confluence of the Mongongahela and Allegheny Rivers---forming the Ohio River. Water views and glorious bridges throughout create spectacular scenes!

Probably my favorite spot in all of Pittsburgh is a perch atop Mt. Washington viewing the city below. Truly breathtaking and not to be missed! Several spots on Mt. Washington afford magnificent panoramic views of the city. Families will enjoy picking out notable structures from the skyline.

The best way to climb Mt. Washington--the
Duquesne Incline, of course! The Duquesne Incline remains a Pittsburgh tradition and has been hoisting visitors and residents up Mt. Washington since 1877. The incline's history reaches even farther back with the existence of a coal hoist in the area dating to 1854. A ride on the Duquesne Incline rewards families with a splendid view and a true slice of Pittsburgh history. Kids in particular will enjoy exploring the station on top of Mt. Washington and checking out the gears that help the car climb to the top.
The incline offers generous hours running from 5:30AM-12:45AM Monday through Saturday and 7AM-12:45AM on Sundays. I recommend views during the day AND at night. Both views are magnificent! Staying true to the old time feel, the incline accepts cash only--so don't forget!

Art thrives in the city. Sculptures greeted us all over and certainly had us veering off of our planned paths to take a peek.

Street art also adorned buildings!

There are so many more art than we saw, so definitely take a look around! And, one more shout out to those bridges! What a beautiful city!
