Elgin, Illinois turns out to be the perfect place to search for Tardis for Dr. Who fans! Nestled in the historic downtown area Tardis can be located inside of
Blue Box Cafe inspired by Dr. Who.

Blue Box Cafe has all of the trimmings to delight a Dr. Who fan. Tardis, a Weeping Angel, a Snowman and more Dr. Who elements bring the popular show alive for guests. Plus, you can sit for a spell and catch an episode running on cafe televisions. Of course, Blue Box is a cafe and coffee bar and appropriately has some Dr. Who-themed treats. We stopped in for lunch and found a full menu of salads, sandwiches and soups. Plus, plenty of coffee and tea creations. So, Blue Box easily makes for a nice spot for a bite.

For the sandwiches, you can either order a specific creation or craft your own from a sizable range of ingredients. We did not order salads on this go around, but the ones served appeared to have a healthy portion sizes.

In keeping local, Blue Box Cafe serves up Metropolis Coffee roasted in Chicago and Rishi Tea from Milwaukee. Some concoctions pay homage to various Dr. Who characters. Blue Box also purveys baked treats to go along with you coffee including Tardis cookies. Yum! Plus, there is also a section sporting Dr. Who collectibles for purchase. Who can resist?

We loved our visit to this quaint and adorable theme cafe. We enjoyed our sandwiches, coffee and service. The place was certainly hopping on a Saturday afternoon attesting to how well loved this local treasure is. One to keep on your list for future travels!
