To make the ladybug, they had red apples cut in half. Three holes were drilled into the apple using a wooden skewer. Two holes were created on the sides for the legs and one at the core to make the head. Pretzel sticks were put into each hole. A grape capped off the pretzel stick for the head.
Take a look:
The children were given some gel to decorate their creations with. My daughter added ladybug spots, spots to the arms, and eyes.
This craft is super easy and will be something fun to do at a barbecue!
Cute apple! Following you back from Mom's Monday Mingle. Thanks for joining us on the first week of our blog hop! :)

That is a cute idea! Did it make the kids more likely to eat the apples (because it was fun) or less likely (because they didn't want to spoil their creations)?
ReplyDeleteThe event was a craft we stumbled on at a grocery store so I am not sure if the kids ate them. I think that it depends on the kid. At my daughter's b-day party, the kids made pizza. Some of them made heart shaped pizzas and then devoured them. But, I could see where a kid wouldn't want to destroy their creation!
