Healthy Kids Day at the Y, April 28th, 2012

I noticed that a number of YMCAs in our area have Healthy Kids Days in our area. It turns out that 1,900 YMCAs across the country are participating in this free community event! The events are geared towards guiding kids to maintaining a healthy lifestyle where they are active and still learning over the summer.

The activities available at each Y vary. Lake Zurich has touch-a-truck, a moon bounce, and a family walk amongst other activities. In Palatine, the Y will have face painting, a book fair, and a fun run along with more activities. In Des Plaines, there will be family Zumba, rock climbing, and log rolling amongst additional activities.

It looks like these events will be a lot of fun! An added bonus--they are free! Check with the YMCA in your area to see if they are participating in the event.
