The Jamie Oliver Foundation has designated May 19th as the first ever Food Revolution Day! The day's mission is to inspire better eating habits through education and empowerment. Mindful Meals in Arlington Heights will be hosting a free family event from 10AM-2PM on May 19, 2012 to help spread the Food Revolution Day message to Chicagoland.
The event will feature cooking demonstrations, food tastings, recipes, and a raffle. Additionally, there will be tons of fun for the kids including worm composting, plant potting, and face painting. You can drop in anytime during the event to join in the fun and learn about healthy eating! With all of the fun, there will be something for everyone!
The moms behind Mindful Meals and this wonderful family event, Tina
Olson, Diane Miller, Lilan Marunde and Leslie Meredith, are passionate about helping families make healthy food choices. This event will be a great way to get to know what they are about as well as how to make better food choices.
The event is free but a suggested $5 donation to the Jamie Oliver Foundation is welcome. The Foundation aims to serve food education projects.
This event sounds like it will be a lot of fun for the family. Also, I am sure that everyone will learn a thing or two about making better eating choices, so it is a win-win!
Mindful Meals is located at 250 N Evergreen Ave in Arlington Heights. If you have any questions, you can give them a call at (847) 398-7480.
