A Little Time and a Keyboard: Treasuring Disney with Disney on Ice Presents a Treasure Trove

Treasuring Disney with Disney on Ice Presents a Treasure Trove

Children smiling, laughing, giggling, oohing, and aahing. Lights flashing, theatrics across the ice and through the air. This is some of what we experienced tonight while watching Disney on Ice Presents Treasure Trove tonight.

From the beginning, Disney on Ice had the kids involved. The Incredibles got the kids moving at the beginning of the show with some exercises.

The kids were amazed as we experienced treasures from many of Disney's tales. My daughter sat wide-eyed during most of the production. She loved seeing all of her favorites--Snow White, Peter Pan, Pumba, Jasmine, and more. She was especially delighted when Captain Hook and Mr. Smee came out. She immediately recognized that Peter Pan was about to start!

Some of the scenes were pretty neat. In the Lion King  sequence, I particularly liked the wildebeest stampede. I was amazed by how they were able to convey the confusion of the stampede. I also liked the Circle of Life scene with the parade of animals. Beautiful!

I love how some favorite Disney songs were incorporated. My husband and I were definitely singing along to the tune of "Yo ho, yo ho, a pirate's life for me!" And, who can't resist singing to "Hakuna Matata" or "A Whole New World?"

The production gave families a great night together where everyone in the family could enjoy their favorite Disney treasure. With this show, there really was something for everyone

There was an intermission about half way through the production (after 40-45 minutes). The scenes before the intermission tended to be longer while those after the intermission were shorter. I think that having the longer scenes at the beginning and shorter ones at the end really helped with the pace of the show.

We loved the show! The venue, the Allstate Arena in Rosemont, was easy to navigate. We did not feel crowded and easily located our seats.

Disney on Ice Presents a Treasure Trove will still be at the Allstate Arena in Chicagoland September 14-16, 2012. There are several shows to choose from. You can check Ticketmaster for tickets.
