A Little Time and a Keyboard: Halloween Wooden Frame--an Easy Spooky Addition

Halloween Wooden Frame--an Easy Spooky Addition

Last year, I started painted wood frames. I am surprised by how many different creations you can actually make using these simple frames! I recently made a cute one for Halloween. (Now, I just need the perfect picture for it!)

This project was super easy. To make this cute frame, I needed:

1 wooden frame
orange paint
black paint
Elmer's glue
Halloween mini-decor
hot glue gun
hair dryer
matte spray
paint brushes (one older one)

This is a cool technique that I learned awhile ago. I first painted the frame orange and let it dry. Then, I painted it with Elmer's glue. (I used an older paintbrush that I didn't care about for this step.) While the glue was wet, I quickly painted on a layer of black paint. Then, I dried the glue and paint rapidly using a hair dryer. This created the crackled appearance. Once the top was dry, I did the sides each individually. After the frame was dry, I sprayed it with a matte spray. Last, I glued on some little Halloween flair with the hot glue gun.

A pretty easy way to make a cute frame with Halloween spirit!

One note--in a previous post, I discussed how I load up an some of the heavily discounted items during after Halloween sales. Well, here are some of the fruits of my labor!
