Recently, my daughter had a tree classification project at school. When it came to identifying the trees on our street, I needed a little help from the web. I found a good source for identifying trees on About.com Forestry. The site has sources for identifying common trees using leaves and leaf silhouettes. You can either search a key of different leaves or look through sources divided between tree classifications. This source may help you with your fall leaf projects! (And, yes, I was able to identify all of our trees! Hopefully, I will retain my new knowledge!)
