A Little Time and a Keyboard: Shamrock Hands for St. Patrick's Day {Craft}

Shamrock Hands for St. Patrick's Day {Craft}

Sunday, March 10, 2013

St. Patrick's Day is almost here, so how about a simple craft for the little ones? I love making a craft for each holiday. It adds a little something special for my daughter and I to do together. Since the weather was less than desirable today, it was fun to work on something special together!

For this craft, we made shamrocks using hand tracings. We used green construction paper, a pencil, scissors, glue, tape, Bendaroos (which you don't need), and our hands! So easy, yet very cute!

To begin, have your little one trace his or her hands on green construction paper. They will need three "hands." (Little hand art is so fun because their hands won't be little forever!)

Once they are traced, cut the hands out. Then, arrange the three "hands" into a shamrock shape and glue together.

Next, add a stem. We used Bendaroos to add a little flair. We had to use tape to keep the stem on. My daughter also glued on some Bendaroo swirls. You can really decorate the shamrocks however you want--think stickers, markers, tissue paper puffs, puffy paint, glitter and more!

After our shamrocks were completed, we taped them to our front window for a bit o' St. Patrick's Day cheer. Little projects like this really mean the world to kids, especially when you work on it together!
