Just as the amount of sunlight each day is waning, so are our opportunities to grab some fall fun! I am trying to be organized so that we can be sure to get our fix of fall fun in this year. Our leaves seem to be turning slowly, so maybe we have more time than we think! Here are some activities to take advantage of before it is too late:
- Go to the Farmer's Market. Some have already closed and many others will be closing in the next week.
- Take advantage of seasonal menus. Several restaurants in our area have fresh, seasonally inspired menus. Enjoy these before menus change to winter!
- Decorate for Halloween. Ok, so some of us do this without a hitch. However, some of us are scrambling the day before Halloween to put some decor up. Take a few decorations out each day and you will be in the spirit!
- Go apple and/or pumpkin picking. No family fun event screams fall more!
- Have a bonfire complete with s'mores!
- Enjoy a rustic hayride.
- Amble through the woods on a fall color walk or take a scenic drive.
- Put together a Halloween scavenger hunt.
- Read a spooky story. This is the time of year to turn off the lights and read a spooky story by candlelight!
- Splurge with pumpkin spice everything. Bake a pie, light a candle, sip on latte---this is that time to celebrate all things pumpkin!
- Get lost in a corn maze.
- Collect beautiful fall leaves and press and identify them. My daughter looks forward to adding to our collection each year!
- Carve a pumpkin.
- Don't forget to hit the festivals! One year, we missed most of the summer festivals due to the heat and scheduling issues. When autumn came around, we felt like we missed summer!
OMG thanks for my reminder! Tons of ideas, so little time =)
ReplyDeleteI know! The weather has been so nice that it is difficult to remember that fall will be over before we know it!
