**Disclosure: As part of the Chicken Soup for the Soul Blogger Network, we received a sample of Chicken Noodle Soup to try. No compensation was received. All opinions are 100% our own.
We have had the opportunity to read several of this year's new additions to the Chicken Soup for the Soul Collection. Each volume is overflowing with poignant, sentimental and at times quite funny stories. Since the stories are short, they provide the perfect little asides during the day. Some of you may not know that Chicken Soup for the Soul also has a line of food featuring very comforting soups. The food line is a new way that Chicken Soup for the Soul is spreading comfort to families. So, while you are reading your Chicken Soup for the Soul books, you can also sit down to a warm cup of soup!
Chicken Soup for the Soul soups come in easy to use tetra packs. The line includes hearty minestrone, chicken tortilla, lentil & beef, Southwestern-style black bean, tomato basil, beef barley, spicy thai-style chicken noodle and---of course--chicken noodle! The line goes beyond offering soup and also includes broth, meal starters, pasta sauce and soup toppers.
We did have the opportunity to try the chicken noodle soup. The broth was pretty thick and seemed nice for a cold day or when you are feeling a bit under the weather. The soup was so easy to make and would be a good starter for other recipes. The Chicken Soup for the Soul website even has a section for recipes featuring their soups. I am famous for sneaking in extra veggies, so this soup is an easy one that you can add to.
To hear about the development of the new line, you can watch the short video below featuring Ann Newmark the publisher and co-author of Chicken Soup for the Soul as well as Chef John Doherty.
One purpose of this new food line is to help speed up the food prep process. The products help that rushed mom or dad to put a meal together quickly or that person feeling under the weather to make something nourishing without much fuss.
