Illumination Returns to Morton Arboretum {& Giveaway 11/15/14}

Last year, The Morton Arboretum launched Illumination bringing an innovative and interactive series of light displays to the trees! From November 21-January 3, 2015 50 acres of LED lights will transform The Morton Arboretum into a spectacular wonderland. We had such a great time at Illumination last year and are thrilled that it is back!

Illumination is a walk through the woods with dazzling light displays throughout. Each display is unique and will have you wonder in amazement. Illumination is a fabulous way to add sparkle to the season while getting much needed fresh air!


Key portions of the amazing display:

• Tree huggers: Hug trees and see their response!
• Sing to the trees: Sing to the trees and see them change colors!
• Symphony Woods: Lights dance in synchronized patterns to the sounds of the renowned Chicago Symphony Orchestra.
• Meadow Lake Magic: Light-patterned trees and a series of lit orbs dotting Meadow Lake create a visually entrancing experience.
• Tinsel Colonnade: Cascades of multi-colored lights draped from trees like tinsel.
• Fire Pits: Perfect places to warm up and even to make s'mores.
• Live Entertainment: Local bands will be playing on weekends.
• Children's activities: This year, Illumination will incorporate more children's activities like a scavenger hunt and interactive stations.

We visited Illumination and loved it! One of my favorite things about The Morton Arboretum is that it really is a destination for every season and I feel that Illumination really shows this off. Plus, there is really nothing like it so it such a special and unique way to celebrate winter and savor the holiday season.

• Illumination runs November 21-January 3, 2015. The fun starts at 5:00PM each night and ends at 9:30PM with last admission at 8:30PM.
• During this period, Illumination will be closed November 27, December 1, 8, 15, 24 & 25.
• Admission: 
  For Illumination dates November 21-26, December 2-19, and December 29-January 3:
            $12 member adult/ $6 member child (ages 2-17)
  
            $17 nonmember adult/ $11 nonmember child (ages 2-17)

          For Illumination dates November 28-30, December 20-23, and December 26-28:
                    $15 member adult/ $8 member child (ages 2-17)
                    $20 nonmember adult/ $13 nonmember child (ages 2-17)

• Tickets can be purchased online from The Morton Arboretum or at the Visitor's Center at the arboretum. They also can be purchased by calling 630-719-2066 but there is a $5 surcharge for phone orders. 
• Tickets are limited, so advanced reservation is recommended!!!!!
