A Little Time and a Keyboard: Vibrant Thanksgiving Pinwheel {Craft}

Vibrant Thanksgiving Pinwheel {Craft}

I am always cooking up crafts for us to work on. Some of them flop and some look rather nice. This past weekend, my daughter and I made some vibrant Thanksgiving pinwheels and I have to say that they came out pretty nice!

See:

What you need:

red, orange, yellow and brown construction paper
scissors
ruler
pencil
glue stick
hot glue gun
needle and thread

Instructions:

My daughter cut out 4 4x4 inch squares from the red, orange and yellow construction papers.

Then, she folded each like a fan.We glued the fans together end to end using the glue stick.

This left us with a really long rainbowesque fan.

To make it into a pinwheel, we formed it in to a loop with each paper nearly touching in the middle. (You will have to fudge this a little if your child was not accurate on measuring.) Glue the two ends together.

To reinforce, I filled the center with hot glue. I held the pinwheel together a few minutes with a little pressure to allow the glue to dry.

After, we cut out two circles and used the hot glue gun to glue them to either side. Thread some some string through one end and you can hang up your pinwheel!

**Alteration: You can also make this into a turkey, My daughter opted to leave it like this but you can easily put on a turkey face and legs for another spin!
