Christie's Dairy Delights is a new addition to downtown Palatine and a very welcome one I must add! Christie's is a nice place to sit back and relax while enjoying a warm cup of hot cocoa or a coffee creation and spending time with the family. Additionally, Christie's has baked treats from local favorite Deerfield's Bakery and hard to resist Baraboo Candy Company chocolates and Ashby's ice cream. Treat time!
With the weather being downright frigid, it has been difficult to muster up the desire to leave home. However, we have already been homebound way too many times this winter, so a warm beverage seemed to be great motivation to venture out on a Saturday night. Plus, we had to check out this nice, new local spot! So we headed over to Christie's and found it to be spacious, warm and relaxing. A nice place to chill!
My daughter and I both ordered hot chocolates and my husband ordered a cup of Metropolis coffee. Christie's has a variety of mix-ins for hot chocolate which makes for a unique cup. I had a peanut butter hot chocolate--yum! My daughter went with the caramel hot chocolate which she finished in a flash giving her stamp of approval. My husband loved his Metropolis coffee which we were pleased to learn is artisanally roasted right here in Chicago!
Christie's has a combo ice cream parlor/lounge atmosphere. Nice armchairs for sitting in, a new fireplace, bean bag chairs and a big screen tv make it a nice place to relax. During our visit, we discovered Christie's game area full of amusing distractions for your family. My daughter chose UNO and the game went on quite awhile---we just never seemed to have the cards which is part of the novelty with UNO! We had a lovely family moment at Christie's and will be back!
Christie's has generous hours, so I am sure you can find some time to check this spot out! They also can host birthday parties and even karaoke. There is plenty of room to move about, so it is a good location for a party! Plus, they are always coming up with a new beverage concoction so there is always something to try! Trust me--if you check out Christie's Facebook page you will find a beverage creation that will inspire a visit!
