Love to hit the road for some shopping? There is a pretty cool local event in Northern Illinois and Southern Wisconsin featuring unique local shops coming up called the Vintage Shop Hop! During the Vintage Shop Hop, stores selling vintage items, antiques, handmades and uniques open their doors to hoppers with all sorts of special surprises. Each store picks their own fun for visitors including special discounts, treats, wine tastings, raffles, artists on site and more! Ann at Nellie's Barn Sale in Roscoe is the mastermind behind this annual event.
Over 200 shops are already on the list with more being added daily. Ann has conveniently grouped them into manageable drives. That way, you can pick the drive or drives that work best for you! The list of participating shops can be found on the Vintage Shop Hop website along with a map. To keep up-to-date and peek inside the shops, follow the Vintage Shop Hop Facebook Page. Locally, there are quite a few in the Chicago suburbs and a really healthy strip in the suburbs along Rt. 14/Northwest Highway. The Rockford area looks like it will be a shoppers paradise! There are various drives throughout the whole area, so check it out. The Vintage Shop Hop is March 4-5, 2016--so two days to shop hard!
