This weekend certainly was as picture perfect as they can be in late October -- great temperatures and plenty of sun! Late Saturday afternoon we capitalized on the weather and visited Crabtree Nature Center for the Art in Nature Nocturne Event.
The event provided a fabulous way to celebrate local artists, nature and fall all in one.
With such wonderful weather, we were eager to hit the trails. While some leaves have fallen already, there were quite a few golden hues adding warmth to the evening. We had fun noting the spots painters had chosen for their inspiration as well as taking a peek at their creations.
If you have not experienced a plein air painting event, I definitely recommend it. These events give families an opportunity to see art in action as well as to get to know local artists.
After painting finished, visitors were invited to some festivities including a painting demo, refreshments and choosing their favorite painting.
Art in Nature was comprised of two events--one during the day in September and this one in the evening. I definitely recommend keeping an eye out for next year's event and bringing your family to revel in nature and art in one!
