Last weekend we visited the College of DuPage in Glen Ellyn for my daughter's volleyball tournament. On the way in, we noticed a tea shop called Tea Canal. I made a mental note so we could visit after the tournament. When we arrived, I was immediately pleased by all of the available tea samples. Quite a cache of teas are available for sampling along one of the walls. You also can request a sample of other teas that are not being sampled along the wall that day. Tea heaven!
The shop has a pleasant seating area as well as a bar where you can sit for a cup of tea. You can also request a tea class or tasting by making a reservation online. Along one wall, Tea Canal displays a collection of tea items, tea pots, tea containers and more for sale.
I sat down for a sample of gunpowder tea. I enjoyed it and purchased a couple of ounces for home. I loved its freshness. I usually order gunpowder online and the freshness of Tea Canal's was very noticeable in comparison. I highly recommend a visit if you are in the Glen Ellyn area. Oh, and they are opening another location in Lombard at the Yorktown Mall. This one will feature an English afternoon tea. Count me in!
