Family Dinner Fun Crafting Pizzas, Salads and Calzones at Olive Theory Pizzeria in Downers Grove

A recent family dinner at Olive Theory Pizzeria in Downers Grove, IL introduced a fun dining option focusing on fresh food that guests can fit to their particular tastes. The family-owned restaurant entices visitors with made-your-own way pizzas, calzones and salads. The ability to craft pizzas and salads to your own particular tastes make for a novel adventure for families and ensures everyone can enjoy a meal especially catered to them.

While the concept of pizzas, calzones and salads can appear to be rather simple, the plethora of fresh ingredients offered permits a wider than expected number of combinations. It is up to you whether you stay traditional or get creative! With so many options, every visit can truly be unique!

My daughter and I both chose to craft pizzas. Crust options include regular, wheat and gluten free. We eagerly had our pizzas piled high with quality ingredients. Options do not end with veggies and meat but also include sauces, cheeses and seasonings. If you are less inspired to craft your own, you can also choose one of the menu options. Once the toppings are piled on, the pizza is popped in the pizza oven.

My husband chose one of the calzones or pie sandwiches. Guests may craft their own with the same range of ingredients as the pizzas or choose predetermined menu options.

We each also savored a delicious and vibrant salad. We each choose an option from the menu -- Caesar, Mediterranean and Caprese. They were quite filling and chock full of veggies! Just like the pizzas and calzones, you can also craft your own.

While nibbling on our salads, our pizzas arrived pipping hot from the oven. I could not wait to dive into my spinach-mushroom-artichoke pizza! Yummy and filling!

Such a fun family outing at Olive Theory Pizzeria! Kids and adults alike will love experimenting with different flavor combos at Olive Theory Pizzeria. As family establishment, Olive Theory also gives back to the community. For every 10 pizzas purchased, Olive Theory donates one to a local charity including food banks. A nice family establishment all around!
