Last weekend, we spent a few days in Minnesota. For part of our journey, we took I-90 into Minnesota. This gave us the opportunity to visit probably my favorite welcome center in the US -- the Dresbach Welcome Center in La Crescent. The Dresbach Welcome Center sits perched on the Mississippi River. During road trips between Minnesota and Wisconsin during my childhood, a stop at this Welcome Center became tradition for my family. So, we had to stop!
The Welcome Center provides a perfect launching pad for your Minnesota adventure. Inside, you will find a plethora of information about sites throughout the state. There is also an information desk where an attendant can help you as well.
There is ample space for stretching your legs while enjoying views of the Mississippi River. There are also some picnic tables for relaxing with a meal. From this spot, you have a nice view of the locks.
