• May 20-Sept. 16 Butterfly House at Peck Farm in Geneva, Mon-Sat 9AM-5PM, Sun 12PM-5PM, donation $2 pp or $5 per family, closed Memorial Day, July 4th and Labor Day

• July 13-16 Vernon Hills Summer Celebration

Friday, June 14:

• July 14-15 Irish Fest, Arlington Heights, Irish dancing, music, Irish vendors, Irish food and more, admission is $5 per adult, kids are free on Fri, ages 3-14 are $3 on Sat.

Saturday, July 15:

• July 15 Bird Tales Story Hour, Wildbird Shack, Mount Prospect, 10:30AM-11:30AM, free, please RSVP, check link for more info
• July 15 Old Settlers' Picnic, Volkening Heritage Farm, Schaumburg, 12PM-3PM, pack a picnic, some food available for purchase, enjoy family fun that would have been on the farm in the 1880's, free
• July 15 Catching Dragons, Crabtree Nature Center, Barrington, 1PM, learn about dragonflies and damselflies, plus practice catch and release, free
• July 15 Visit The Viking Ship, Geneva, 1PM-4PM, tour a reconstruction of a Viking ship, learn about the craftsmenship, $5 per adult, $3 per child

Sunday, July 16:

• July 16 Malott Japanese Garden Family Sundays, 11AM-4PM, activities celebrating Japanese culture, free, parking for garden is $30 per car
• July 16 Animal Encounter, River Trail Nature Center, Northbrook, 1:30PM, learn about local animals and their amazing adaptations, free
