Road Trip
While we were in the Quad Cities, we were near Le Claire, Iowa which happens to be the home of the American Pickers' Antique Archaeology. So, we had to make a stop! It certainly is a favorite and there quite a few other fans visiting when we arrived.
The site consists of two buildings. Overall, they were a little smaller than I expected but we definitely enjoyed exploring discovering all sorts of nostalgic items. We recognized quite a few items from the show.
My favorite is the bike above. In the episode, Frank and Mike had to dig up its parts which were scattered about the yard. Quite a project!
Another favorite find -- an antique train whistle! Overall, though, I was hoping that there would be more antique and nostalgic finds. There are quite a few souvenirs all a variety of price ranges, so you can bring home your own American Pickers memento. They do have some items made in the USA, so check for those!
It is always fun to visit a place from one of your favorite shows. A stop at Antique Archaeology was a nice surprise add-on to our Quad Cities trip!
