Dinosaur Discovery Museum in Kenosha, Wisconsin

On a recent visit to Kenosha, Wisconsin, we wandered into the Dinosaur Discovery Museum. If you have been a long time follower of this blog, you know that I am a big fan of dinosaurs! So, I was happy to find some time to check the museum out.

Overall, the museum is not overly huge making it a great add on to any Kenosha trip. Saturdays and Sundays are Dino Digs days where kids get to play paleontologist from 1PM-4PM. Plus, the museum is by donation -- making it even easier for families to visit.

The main exhibit area is full of dinosaur casts. It truly looks like a treasure trove. There also are several multimedia elements as well as detailed placards that add another dimension to the learning.

In the basement, you can see the paleo lab which is pretty cool. Additionally, there are plenty of hands-on science learning experiences.

Before leaving, we checked out some of the fossils near the entree way. The museum collection is in conjunction with the Carthage Institute of Paleontology. Exhibits expose visitors to current paleontology finds including the onsite lab. The Dinosaur Discovery Museum is a fun little museum that lets families explore science and the world of dinosaurs. Nice one to add to a Kenosha trip!

  2. My kids really would have enjoyed this museum when they were little. We drove out of our way many times to see a dinosaur exhibit. I would have enjoyed seeing the building. It's lovely!
