- January 13-February 19 Enchanted Railroad at The Morton Arboretum:The Morton Arboretum in Lisle will be hosting its annual Enchanted Railroad event. The display is quite intricate and families will enjoy picking out a variety of miniatures. Free with regular Arboretum admission

- February 24 Pulling Taffy, Kline Creek Farm, West Chicago, 10AM-3:30PM, make taffy from molasses to take home, ages 5 and up; 12 and younger with an adult, $5 pp, must register, different times available
- February 24 Super SciTech Saturday HEALTHY ME!, SciTech Museum, Aurora, 11AM-2PM, health care providers will be there with hands-on activities and screenings, admissions to general museum up to 4 kids free, $5 wristbands for activities, adults admission $10

- February 25 Underground Railroad Hike, Sand Ridge, South Holland, 11AM-3PM, take a journey along an Underground Railroad route, interactive history hike, free

- February 25 Cookies & Coloring, Long Grove Coffee Co, 3PM-4:30PM, receive a coloring book, crayons and a cookie, $10, must register
