A couple of weeks ago, my husband and I explored what has immediately become a local favorite: the Grill House in Northbrook, Illinois. The setting is comfortable, inviting and very welcoming for families. The menu incorporates family favorites and Greek flavors. With such a diverse menu and relaxed surroundings, the Grill House is a perfect places for families to get together and enjoy a meal.
During our visit, we met with co-owner Lou Liagridonis. Lou has a passion for providing fresh and quality meals as well as being a true part of the community. Lou's knowledge of food is evident. He ensures that the food at the Grill House is made out of quality yet simple ingredients so that customers can comfortably understand what is in the food they are eating. Such a relief! Lou works with customers in regards to food allergies. The menu does offer gluten free options, however, the kitchen is not gluten free. I really admire the transparency Grill House offers in food options.
The Grill House uses their own recipes. The vast majority of items are made in house and others are made locally including the spinach pie. I noticed shells-n-cheese on the children's menu and inquired about the cheese sauce. The sauce is made in house of real cheese, a great example of the care the restaurant puts into food preparation! Another childhood favorite -- chicken tenders -- are also made freshly in house. As a mom, it can be a challenge to find a quick meal for your family without all of the junk. Now, I know I can go to Grill House.

We also tried chicken gyros and the Greek salad. With the Greek salad, we had the house balsamic dressing which is made in house. The chipotle dressing is also made in house. The salad and gyros were both tasty. We were very happy with the portion sizes and had some to take home.
Grill House also has a soup of the day. We sampled the lemon egg soup of the day. It was heavier than expected but delicious.
As you can see, we had quite a tasting! We enjoyed everything we sampled and already have eyes on our next visit to the Grill House! I think I will try the falafel sandwich or the baby kale caesar salad. Can't wait!
