I am always scouting for new coffee shops during our Chicago suburban explorations. After visiting the Openlands Lakeshore Preserve, we stopped at Perfect Blend in Highland Park for a little coffee on the way home. Coffee shops pretty much run the gambit between being strictly place for a coffee concoction to full service restaurants. The Perfect Blend is somewhere in between which gives you a lot of options if you are looking for something to nibble on with your coffee.
The cafe sells a number of baked goods, all looking delicious. We did not bring our daughter on this visit, but I know that she would LOVE a muffin. Above the muffins, you can see that Perfect Blend has quite a selection of tea. I do have a fondness for Mighty Leaf, so it is good to know where to get it if I am looking for some tea in Highland Park. They also have a number of quick snack bars if you are on the go.

In regards to coffee, I was THRILLED to get coffee in a mug. There was a bobble with my order and I was accidentally given a latte which is pictured above. The staff quickly corrected my ordered and served a yummy mocha latte.
