This weekend, I highly recommend checking out the fall colors. They will not last long -- here is my list for 10 Places to Look for Fall Colors in the Chicago Suburbs. Also, this is the LAST year for The Grove Arts & Crafts Faire -- so definitely fit that in this weekend or next. Here are my picks:
Thursday, November 1:

- November 1-4 Graue Mill Tours, Oak Brook, 10:30AM-4:00PM, Graue Mill is still open for tours until November 11 (closed Mondays), $5 per adult, $2 kids 4-12, $4 per senior
- November 3 Dog Admission Day at Morton Arboretum, 7AM-sunset, $5 per dog, regular admission fee for humans, demos, vendors and more, see website for more info on what you need to participate
- November 3 National Bison Day, Sugar Creek, Joliet, 10:30AM-2PM, ecology hikes and more fun, then head to Midewin in Wilmington and more
- November 3-4 Model Railroad Showcase, Roselle Public Library, 9:30AM-4PM Sat, 1PM-4PM Sun, model layouts, memorabilia and more, free
- November 3 Farmhouse Museum Tours, Kline Creek Farm, West Chicago, 10AM-4PM, tours on the hour, blacksmithing demo at 1:30, free
- November 3 Wilder Mansion's 8th Annual Holiday Market, Elmhurst, 10AM-4PM

- November 4 GPS Scavenger Hunt, River Trail Nature Center, Northbrook, 12PM-2PM, check out one of the preserve's GPS units or bring your own (supplies limited), go on a treasure hunt with provided coordinates, free
