The Paramount Theatre in Aurora, IL announced its Broadway Series for the 2019-2020 season, so now is time to plan for a fabulous night or two or three at the theatre! Originally constructed in 1931, the Paramount Theatre maintains the classic glamour of theatre in its glory. We visited the Paramount for the first time this winter and were immediately enchanted by our elegant surroundings. We knew we were part of something magical! The production of The Wizard of Oz captivated us from beginning to end, providing us with such a fantastic family memory! The acting, sets, surroundings --everything was spectacular! The next season gives 6 different options for enjoying Broadway at the Paramount including two first run, world premiere opportunities! Check out this year's productions:

The Producers – the hilarious musical by Mel Brooks about Max and Leo – two Producers who purposely try to create a flop!  The Producers is currently running and closes on March 17th!

August Rush – a World Premiere musical based on the beloved and Oscar nominated film. Directed by Tony Award winner John Doyle. Join 11-year old orphan Evan, as he searches for his parents and discovers his own musical genius while on his journey. August Rush runs April 24-June 2. This production will be the first ever run of August Rush on stage, so a true one-of-a kind adventure!

Newsies – based on the 1992 movie, Newsies is a huge song & dance show about newsboys that delivered the papers until a strike put them into the headlines. Newsies is an inspirational, feel-good musical for the whole family! The production runs September 4-October 20.

Beauty and the Beast – Be our guest at Paramount as the classic fairytale comes to life and reminds us that beauty isn’t always as it appears. Beauty and the Beast will create a merry holiday memory this next holiday season with a November 13-January 19 run.

The Secret of My Success – A new musical based on the smash film, the team behind the hit musical Diary of a Wimpy Kid bring you the story of a sidesplitting scheme where an ambitious transplant from Kansas assumes the identity of a rising New York City executive. The World Premiere of The Secret of My Success will run February 12, 2020-March 29, 2020.

Kinky Boots – This flashy musical features a Tony Award winning score by Cyndi Lauper and tells the story of a shoe factory owner and a drag performer that transcend their differences to turn their small town upside down and work together to save a failing shoe factory. Kinky Boots will run April 29, 2020-June 14, 2020.
