Summer Fests, Taco Fest, Beer Garden, Viking Ship and More Family Fun in the Chicago Suburbs July 18-21, 2019
The weekend is almost here and there is a lot of fun in the Chicago suburbs! Please check on outdoor events before going due to changes because of extreme heat. Be sure to stay hydrated this weekend! Here are my picks:

- May 25-September 2 Butterflies and Blooms, Chicago Botanic Garden, 10AM-5PM daily, see website for fees, weather dependent

- July 20 Build a Bird House, Wildbird Shack, Mount Prospect, 10:30AM-12PM, $45 per team, build a bird house with your favorite little one, must register

- July 20-21 Taco Fest and Highwood Days, Highwood, a variety of local taco vendors, festival fun
- July 20-21 3rd Annual Taste of Korea Festival, Old Orchard, Oak Brook, 11AM-10PM
- July 20 Viking Ship Open Day, Good Templar Park, Geneva, 1PM-4PM, tour the Viking ship that was in the World's Fair, $5 per adult, $3 per teen, children free
- July 20 German Beer Garden, Volkening Heritage Farm, Schaumburg, 4PM-7PM, German music, pretzels, local craft beer and soda, summer games, bring a picnic, $5 pp includes pretzel or pickle and reusable glass, kids under 3 are free
- July 20 Mayslake Hall Gardens and Grounds Tour, Oak Brook, 6PM-7PM, $10 pp, ages 12 and up, learn about the historic uses of the land, explore the gardens and study the carved treasures of the facade, must register
- July 20 & 21 Walking Plays Hans Christian Andersen, Morton Arboretum, Lisle, 6PM, $20 adult/$15 child ($15/$10 for members), reserve tickets online

- July 21 Malott Japanese Garden Sundays, Chicago Botanic Garden, Glencoe, 11AM-4PM, design a samurai helmet, free, parking is $30 per car (free for members)
- July 21 Navigation Quest, Crabtree Nature Center, Barrington, 1PM, test your navigation skills and answer nature trivia on an all ages self-guided course, free
