Chicago suburbs Fourth of July Weekend activities and festivities
Fourth of July in the Chicago Suburbs is a time of many festivals featuring carnivals, fireworks, food and more. Here are my picks for fun this weekend! Don't forget that Bristol Renaissance Faire starts this weekend plus hot air balloons in Lisle! **Be sure to watch the weather before going out.**
Ongoing:
- May 18-September 21 Butterfly House, Peck Farm, Geneva, Mon-Sat 9AM-5PM, Sun 12PM-5PM, closed Memorial Day, 4th of July and Labor Day, $2 pp donation, $5 per family
- May 25-September 2 Butterflies and Blooms, Chicago Botanic Garden, 10AM-5PM daily, see website for fees, weather dependent
- May 24-September 15 Nature Connects Lego Sculptures by Sean Kenney at The Morton Arboretum, comes with regular admission, see previous post for more details

- July 4-6 Eyes to the Skies, Lisle, check website for hot air balloon launches, live music info, craft fair and more, morning balloon launch is free, check for ticket prices for other times
- July 4 History Alive! American Revolution, First Division Museum lobby, Cantigny, Wheaton, 1PM-3PM, interact with artifacts, crafts and more from the time, dress up in uniform, free with $5 parking

- July 5 Clydesdales Palatine, Jewel Osco Palatine, 1PM-3PM, free
Saturday, July 6:
- July 6-7 Bristol Renaissance Faire Opens!
- July 6-7 Annual Chicago Botanic Art Festival, free with parking $30 per car
- July 6 Outdoor Play "Can You See Me?" Cantigny Park, Wheaton, 12PM, story of an imaginary character that gets lost and learns what it means to be important, free with parking ($10), please bring lawn chairs
- July 6 Horsin' around: Stars, Stripes and Snips, St. James Farm, Warrenville, 12PM-4PM, family fun, equine activity day, free
