The weekend is around the corner and there are plenty of family fun events to look forward here in the Chicago suburbs! Here are my picks:

- February 7 Night at the Nature Center, Hawthorne Hill Nature Center, Elgin, 6PM-7:30PM, hike, craft, discovery room, free, dress for the weather
Saturday, February 8:
- February 8-9 Make Your Own Glass Heart, Patterson Glass Works, Mundelein, 10AM-4PM, $35 small, $65 large, first come, first served
- February 8-9 Chicago Travel and Adventure Show, Rosemont, pretty fun for kids and adults -- travel shows, cultural activities and travel info, purchase tickets online
- February 8-9 Chocolate Weekend, Morton Arboretum, Lisle, 10AM-4PM, free with admission, also check out the Enchanted Railroad (retrieve ticket in Visitor's Center)
- February 8 Winterfest, Wauconda, 1PM -7PM, (pond hockey tournament 8PM-4PM), turkey bowling, soup smackdown, dj, snowball drop and much more, free
- February 8-9 Winter Chilly Fest, Emily Oakes, Skokie, 4PM-8PM, hayride, campfire, winter games, hot chocolate, marshmallow roasting, chili and fixings, more, $14 pp, $11 for kids ($7 without chili and dinner)
