I hope that you have been enjoying this fantastic weather we have been having! While shorter, the days have been beautiful. The weekend is nearly here, so here is my picks on what to do this weekend:

Ongoing Richardson Corn Maze -- Did you know that the Chicago area is home to the World's Largest Corn Maze? We certainly are! One of our favorite corn mazes is Richardson's Corn Maze which is the World's Largest and features a new theme each year. This year's maze celebrates Earth Day's 50th Anniversary. This year's maze is open September 12-November 8. Don't forget the apple cider donuts!

Ongoing Dunn Museum Timed Entry, Libertyville, 10AM-3:30PM, must reserve timed entry, nonresident $10, $6 seniors, $6 kids, resident $6, $3 and $3 respectively, under 4 free, learn about the history and culture of Lake County, museum open Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays only
Ongoing First Division Museum at Cantigny timed entry, Wednesdays-Sundays; two sessions each day 10AM-1:15PM or 1:45PM-5PM, reserve free tickets
October 15 - November 15 Sugar Skull City, Aurora, self guided walking tour of Sugar Skull designs on storefronts downtown, special first Friday event November 6, special menu items, Sugar Skull scavenger hunt, special locally crafted items and more, see website

November 7 Nature for Little Ones: Birds at Our Feeders, Sandridge Nature Center Facebook Live, 10AM, learn about winter birds and how to make a feeder, free
November 7 & 8 Corn Harvest, Kline Creek Farm, West Chicago, learn about the corn harvest and experience picking corn by hand alongside horse drawn equipment, learn how to properly shuck, $5 pp, must register, various times, must wear a mask
November 7 Take and Make Veterans Day Activity, Cantigny, Wheaton, 10AM-12PM, pick up a take and make craft for Veterans Day, the craft is free but donations for the Midwest Shelter for Homeless Veterans are gladly accepted
November 7 Bison Day Celebration, Little Red Schoolhouse, Willow Springs, 10AM-12PM, hikes, scavenger hunt, take a picture with bison cut out, free but must register, social distance and wear a mask
November 7 Bison Crawl via Midewin National Tallgrass Prairie, 11AM-12PM, virtual cross country expedition in celebration of National Bison Day, must register, see website
November 7 & 8 Kennicott House Tours, The Grove, Glenview, 11AM, 12PM, 1PM, 2PM, must register, limit 8 people per time, must wear masks and social distance, free, call to register
November 7 Northbrook Public Library Virtual Children's Film Fest (ages 5-10 with caregiver), 2PM-4PM, watch films via vimeo and enjoy a Zoom after party, must register, free
Sunday, November 8:
Sunday November 8 Changing Seasons, River Trail Nature Center, Northbrook, choose 10:30AM or 1:30PM slot, learn how plants and animals prepare for winter, must register, social distance and wear a mask
November 8 Veteran's Day Car Parade, Morton Grove, 1:30PM
