Chicago Suburbs Family Fun April 3-4, 2021
We are hoping into the weekend! Here are my picks for weekend fun:
Ongoing:
Dunn Museum in Libertyville is back open, please reserve timed ticket, learn about the history and natural history of Lake County, enjoy special exhibits as well, admission fee
Ongoing Naper Settlement is back open to the public Tuesdays - Fridays 10AM-4PM, $5 pp, must register ahead.
Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays Book a Tour of The Grove Interpretive Center, Glenview, $2 for residents, $ 5 for non, 10AM-2PM, groups limited to 25, children under 2 are free, meet all of the resident animals and learn about Robert Kennicott, must register online, tours are 45 minutes
Through June 6 Simply Spring Butterfly Exhibit, Nicholas Conservatory, Rockford, enjoy viewing live butterflies flying in the conservatory and learn about their life cycle, $9 per adult, $7per child or senior, must pre-register
It's Showtime: Spring 2021 at Chicago Botanic Gardens, enjoy spring come alive at Chicago Botanic Gardens this spring as flowers begin to bloom, the gardens will now be open until 7PM, must reserve a time for your visit, parking is $25 per car week days and $30 on weekends, free for members

April 3 & 4 Spring Selfie Scavenger Hunt, Crabtree Nature Center, Barrington, 9:30AM-2:30PM, pick up a scavenger hunt sheet and see how many items you can find, take a selfie with them, share on Crabtree's Facebook Page
April 3 Spring Fling Drive By, Gary Morava Recreational Building, Prospect Heights, 10AM-11:30AM, drive by and wave at the Easter bunny, take a socially distant picture, first 100 kids receive a goodie bag
April 3 Opening day of The Farmyard at Lambs Farm, 10AM-5PM, must reserve a spot, must wear masks and social distance, $5 per person
April 3 Easter Parade, Antioch, 10:30AM, must wear masks and social distance
April 3 Earth Day Safari, Plum Creek Nature Center, Crete, 10AM-4PM, pick up an adventure pack at the nature center and explore
April 3 Virtual Twisted Tales: Goldilocks and the Three Bears, via Zoom through Arlington Heights Memorial Library, 11AM-12PM, free, performed by Buffalo Grove High School Theatre students, scripted and skewed by Tweens Advisory Council and Inklings, must register
April 3 Longhouse Living, Isle a La Cache, Romeoville. 12PM-2PM, the longhouse will be open for viewing, learn about the daily live of the Potawatomi, free, must wear masks and social distance
April 3 & 4 The Progressive Farm: A Barnyard Tour, Kline Creek Farm, West Chicago, 1:30PM, 2:30PM, 3:30PM, learn about farming towards the end of the 19th century, costumed interpreter, free but tours are limited to 10 people, those under 18 must be accompanied by an adult, masks and social distancing required
April 3 Virtual Your City At Home: Shedd Aquarium, via Zoom via Arlington Heights Memorial Library, 3PM-4PM, meet the Shedd's penguins virtually, must register
