Welcoming Cooper's Hawk's Newest Addition to the Chicago Suburbs
**Disclosure: I did receive a complimentary meal in order to bring this review to you. No other compensation was received. All opinions are 100% my own.
We began visiting Cooper's Hawk not too long after an early location of the winery and restaurant blend opened in Wheeling. The growth of this fine eating establishment and wine tasting room has been incredible to watch from the first location in Chicago area Orland Park to the recent opening in Morton Grove, Illinois. While Cooper's Hawk has been expanding to locations throughout the country, we enjoyed take a peek at a more local new location here in Morton Grove!
Cooper's Hawk's truffle counter sure is tempting! |
The staff at Morton Grove's Cooper's Hawk eagerly welcomed us to the new location. Immediately, the spaciousness impressed us! After enjoying a splash of sparkling wine, I keyed in on the chocolate counter. Cooper's Hawk chefs craft delicious and quite sizable truffles. Yum! Of course, I would hone in on the chocolate........
The open design of Cooper's Hawk Morton Grove's tasting and store area is quite refreshing! |
The airy tasting and store area welcomed us with a refreshing atmosphere -- the perfect spot to unwind. We loved that there truly was plenty of room to move around with this design.
Time for a Tasting Adventure
Chicken Potstickers with a vibrant slaw create quite the perfect starter at Cooper's Hawk. |
After some time admiring the new tasting digs, we sat at our table for lunch. My husband and I shared an appetizer of Chicken Potstickers which came with a lovely bed of slaw. I have always loved the slaw at Cooper's Hawk because it is packed with veggies! If I eat my veggies, I can indulge -- right?
A pyramid of blackened tuna upon a bed of rice topped with a fresh ginger floret and accompanied by slaw. |
For my entrée option, I jumped at the Blackened Tuna! I have always loved the tuna at Cooper's Hawk, so this was a MUST. The Blackened Tuna was masterfully plated creating a pyramid look around a bed of rice, topped with slaw and fresh ginger floret.
The regal Filet Mignon at Cooper's Hawk. |
My husband indulged with the Filet Mignon lovingly topped with a rosette of fried onions. We both LOVED that the filet came accompanied with roasted broccoli and choice of side. Fantastic! I did nibble on the scrumptious onions......
The Barrel Reserve is one of Cooper's Hawk's hallmark wines. |
A plate of truffles presented the perfect dessert! We brought a couple home as well. Totally yum!
Sweet temptations -- Cooper's Hawk's chocolate truffles are yum! |
Wine and Cocktail Time at Cooper's Hawk
Wait, I almost forget -- yes, we did imbibe a little! I sipped on a wonderful glass of Barbera! Cooper's Hawk has so many fantastic wines, it is honestly hard to choose one. However, I had not sipped on Barbera in awhile. So perfect! The Barbera was perfect for sipping and relaxing during some much needed down time.
Sipping and swirling Cooper's Hawk Barbera. |
My husband actually went for an intriguing Cooper's Hawk Cocktail. Honestly, it was a tough decision because Cooper's Hawk wines are so fantastic. But, I am so glad my husband ordered the Bin 61 Sour. A Bin 61 Sour features Woodford Reserve Bourbon, Lemon Sour and Nightjar. The cocktail is so delicious! Definitely, a cocktail I look forward to enjoying again!

Additionally, there is an outdoor portion which is so fun when eating out. The tasting area is quite spacious and invites exploring Cooper's Hawk wide range of award winning wines. Our meals were fantastic and lovingly capped off with truffles. We will be sipping and swirling at the Morton Grove Cooper's Hawk again!
