The weekend is here! Our forests are full migratory birds, so I am highlighting the scarlet tanager with my photo! Plenty of spring fun this week, check out my picks:

Ongoing Naper Settlement is back open to the public Tuesdays - Saturdays 10AM-4PM,, Sundays 1PM-4PM, adults $10 pp, seniors 62+ $8, kids ages 4-12 $7, Naperville residents (with proof of residency), children under 4 and Naper Settlement Members are free, must register ahead. Also, visit the new Answering the Call: Naperville at War exhibit focusing on WWII.
Through June 6 Simply Spring Butterfly Exhibit, Nicholas Conservatory, Rockford, enjoy viewing live butterflies flying in the conservatory and learn about their life cycle, $9 per adult, $7per child or senior, must pre-register
May 1-16 Lilac Time at Lilacia Park in Lombard, Lilac Store featuring lilac items, Lilac Heritage tours $7 pp -- must register
May 8 - October 10 Model Railroad Garden open at Chicago Botanic Garden, Adults: $8, Seniors: $7, Children (3 – 12): $6 Children (2 and under): Free Members receive $1 off each price Garden Plus members get in free on Wednesdays, tickets are at ticket booth in front of exhibit and have timed entry, must also reserve time to visit gardens and purchase parking online, parking: $25 per weekday, $30 on weekends

May 14-16 For the Love of Chocolate: Long Grove's Bite Size Celebration, chocolate demos, chocolate vendors, live entertainment, yoga, chocolate and wellness and more, must purchase tickets ahead of time, tickets start at $15
May 14-16 re/Vision: an Immersive Art Experience, Evanston Art Center, outdoors, 12pm-6pm Fri & Sat; 12pm-5pm Sun, immersive outdoor art experience that will focus on upcycling for the public to socially engage with while thinking critically about recycling and reducing waste, $15 per person when reserved online, $20 at the door and you may have to wait due to protocols.

May 15 World Migratory Bird Day, Glacial Park's Lost Valley Visitor's Center, Ringwood, 8AM-12:00PM, free, hands-on activities
May 15 & 16 Haiku Walk, Trailside, River Forest, 9AM-4PM, walk along the paved trail and enjoy haikus, maybe you will be inspired to write one too, free
May 15 Kids to Parks Day, Hoffman Estates, Fabbrini Park, 9am walk around the park, free fishing clinic but must register for a spot, free scavenger hunt but must register
May 15 Yoga in the Park with Hop Along Kids Yoga, Klehm Park, Arlington Heights, 10AM, geared towards families with kids ages 2-6 but all are welcome, register online, $9
May 15 Tour Viking -- The Viking Ship in Geneva, 1PM-4PM, $7 pp age 18+, children free, must wear mask and social distance, must register for a time
May 15-16 The Progressive Farm: A Barnyard Tour, Kline Creek Farm, West Chicago, 1:30PM, 2:30PM, 3:30PM, learn about farming towards the end of the 19th century, costumed interpreter, free but tours are limited to 10 people, those under 18 must be accompanied by an adult, masks and social distancing required
Sunday, May 16
May 16 Dog Admission Day, Morton Arboretum, Lisle, 7AM-sunset, designated areas, $5 per dog, normal admission for human visitors, must pre-register
May 16 Modern in the Middle Road Rally, Farnsworth House, day motor tour of notable houses in the Fox Valley, discounts at food partners, digital itineraries. $30 pp, must register for 10AM, 11AM or 12PM
May 16 World Migratory Bird Day, Volo Bog, Ingleside, 12pm-4pm, open house with hands-on activities
