Pampering Myself with Relaxation and Self Care at North Shore Salt Therapy Center

What is Salt Therapy?
Many of you may be curious about salt therapy. I actually did not know too much about it until my first visit to North Shore Salt Therapy. Salt therapy is a natural and complimentary way to improve general wellness easing some common conditions including asthma, allergies, psoriasis, stress and more. Additionally, salt therapy can have a detoxifying effect. Salt therapy recreates the microclimate of a salt cave forming an experience of calm and healing. The relaxation and general wellness properties of salt therapy intrigued me!
What is it Like to Relax with Salt Therapy?
So many moments and aspects of visiting North Shore Salt Therapy were blissful. Electronics are not permitted in the therapy suite, so immediately calm ensued upon entering. Forty-five minutes to me! Additionally, you enter the room of bliss without shoes -- more relaxation!

I found settling in for me-time so easy with relaxing chairs and Yogibos -- totally comfy, transformable beanbag furniture. I also enjoyed running my hands through salt specially warmed inside of a box. A slice of heaven here in the North Shore for sure!
The salt crystal wall is absolutely divine. I marveled at the different crystal shapes and interesting veins of color throughout. Additionally, several salt lamps within the room delighted me.

As the session started, micro-particles of dry pure grade sodium chloride is dispersed into the room. You may taste a little bit of the salt, but rest quickly embraces guests. I felt so warm, cozy and at peace during therapy.
The salt room truly encapsulated me with warmth and calm. I could have remained longer than the 45 minute session -- I was so at ease!
Benefits that I Enjoyed:
I do have allergies and I have to say that the fine salt aerosol infused in the air truly helped open my nasal passages. Often, it may take a few sessions to see the benefits. However, allergy relief was immediate for me.
Walking over the salt was an interesting yet kind of addictive experience. For me, the edges of the salt provided a novelty. When I returned home, I noticed that the salt had softened my feet.
Overall, I felt so at ease. I had a pretty hectic week before, so the relaxation was entirely therapeutic. Continuing visits will allow me to further relax and balance while improving my lung function helping with my allergies!
Family Salt Therapy:
Children also benefit from salt therapy as well. I visited the Children's Suite and immediately fell in love with the ocean theme. Inside, children have a world of play to enjoy while receiving the benefits of salt therapy. Parents relax and benefit from the salt therapy alongside their children in this dreamy room!

Quality Salt Lamps:
Owner Mike Kaplan discussed with me the ins and outs of Himalayan salt lamps. The Himalayan salt lamps at North Shore Salt Therapy are high quality. Salt from salt caves has some threads of marbling throughout making a unique coloring to each piece. White Himalayan salt is free of impurities and rarer. North Shore Salt Therapy does have a several white Himalayan salt lamps which are sights to behold! Additionally, North Shore Salt Therapy chooses salt lamps with quality stone bases instead of a plastic base. North Shore Salt Therapy Center has so many beautiful designs of salt lamps of all shapes and sizes!

Overall Experience:
North Shore Salt Therapy Center has created a tranquil setting for a respite from life's stress while benefitting from the wellness properties of salt therapy. A morning at North Shore Salt Therapy Center allowed me time to float away into serenity while taking care of me. This is often so difficult with our busy lives!
