The weekend is nearly here! There is plenty of fun to be had this weekend! Take a peek at my picks:

May 8 - October 10 Model Railroad Garden open at Chicago Botanic Garden, Adults: $8, Seniors: $7, Children (3 – 12): $6 Children (2 and under): Free Members receive $1 off each price Garden Plus members get in free on Wednesdays, tickets are at ticket booth in front of exhibit and have timed entry, must also reserve time to visit gardens and purchase parking online, parking: $25 per weekday, $30 on weekends
May 31 - September 6 Butterflies and Blooms, Chicago Botanic Gardens, 10AM-5PM, $25 parking during the week, $30 on weekends, tickets adults $8, seniors $7, children (3-12) $6, children 2 and under free, members $1 off, garden plus members free on Wednesdays, 10 visit pas $50 per members, $60 non members, must reserve timed-entry to garden, tickets for exhibit are at booth
May 22 - September 18 Butterfly House at Peck Farm in Geneva is open Monday - Saturday 9AM-5PM, Sunday 12PM-5PM, suggested donation $2 pp or $6 per family, masks and social distancing required.
May 14 - August 29 To the Moon Snoopy Soars with NASA, Elmhurst History Museum, learn how Snoopy was part of NASA's Manned Flight Awareness safety program, learn about the Apollo program and more, free
Ongoing Naper Settlement is open to the public Tuesdays - Saturdays 10AM-4PM,, Sundays 1PM-4PM, adults $12 pp, seniors 62+ $10, kids ages 4-12 $8, Naperville residents (with proof of residency), children under 4 and Naper Settlement Members are free. Also, visit the new Answering the Call: Naperville at War exhibit focusing on WWII.
Ongoing Human + Nature at Morton Arboretum, Lisle, stunning natural sculptures to help connect people with trees, the exhibition includes 5 incredible sculptures, included with normal admission
Ongoing through Labor Day Local Art Pop Up at Izaak Walton Park in Prospect Heights
Ongoing Von Bergen's Sunflower Mazes, Hebron, ongoing as long as there are blooms, ticket reservation recommended, $12 per adult, $10 per child on weekends, $8 and $6 week days, $1 processing fee per ticket
Ongoing - September 16 Par Excellence Redux at the Elmhurst Art Museum. This fun new interactive exhibit features 9 mini golf holes designed by both local artists and artists throughout the country. The exciting new exhibit honors the original Par Excellence exhibit at the Art Institute of Chicago in 1988. You must reserve a tee time. $10 per adult, $8 per senior, $5 for children and free for kiddies under 5.

July 10 Flower Fest, Elawa Farm's Garden Market, Lake Forest, 8AM-1PM, free family activities, diy bouquet booth, demos by Chalet Nursery, more vendors, must register for family activities
July 10 Walk your Dog at Cantigny Park, Wheaton, 10AM-4PM, $10 parking, dogs are invited to walk Cantigny Park on this special day, rescues and shelters will be visiting 10AM-4PM
July 10 & 11 Farmhouse Museum Tours, Kline Creek Farm, West Chicago, 10AM-4PM, learn what it was like to live on the farm and how farms served as building blocks of the rural community, free
July 10 Egg Collecting, Kline Creek Farm, West Chicago, 10:30AM-11AM, register and collect eggs to bring home, $15 pp
July 10 Butterfly Count, Sagawau, Lemont, 11AM-3PM, help with the North American Butterfly Association Butterfly Count, free but must register
July 10 Virtual Learn to Draw: Under the Sea, through Arlington Heights Memorial Library, 11AM-12PM, for kids in 3rd grade and up and their families, learn to draw aquatic life, free but must register and pick up materials

July 10 Firefly Night Walk, St. James Farm, Warrenville, self guided lantern lit walk to see fire flies, $10 per person, must register for time slot

July 11 Elgin Museum Car Show, Elgin History Museum, 10AM-3PM, free for spectators, $10 entry per car, food vendors will be available, live bands
July 11 Don't Lose Your Head, Crabtree Nature Center, Barrington, 10AM-2PM, can you recognize animals by their skulls, free
July 11 Forest Walk, River Trail Nature Center, Northbrook, 1:30PM, learn why it is "cooler" in the forest, must register, free
July 11 Cantigny Summer Concert: The Boy Band Night, Cantigny Park, Wheaton, 3PM-5PM, $10 parking
