Date Night Sipping and Savoring on the Beautiful Patio at Mesa Urbana in Chicago

A summer evening in Lincoln Park treated us to a date night complete with nature and a fantastic dinner right in Chicago. When we learned that Mesa Urbana moved to a new location in Lincoln Park with a lovely patio, we knew that we would have to make a little jaunt to take in the new dinner spot. We could not have pleasured in a better date night experience than wandering Lincoln Park and setting in for an evening on Mesa Urbana's patio.

While Mesa Urbana offers a range of intriguing appetizers with a little fancy yet entirely inviting Latin flare, we settled in on one of our favorite Mesa dishes to open our meal -- the Guacamole Plate! Mesa Urbana's Guacamole Plate arrives in vibrant glory with cucumber, jicama, watermelon radish, yellow beet and an incredible mound of guacamole. The Guacamole Plate has become quite a fan favorite at Mesa and is not to be missed. The guac is ABSOLUTELY delicious with fresh veggies.

If you are wondering, you also can order fresh chips with the guac. Mesa's chips are also delicious. If you are a salsa fan, Mesa features a small plate of warm rojo and verde salsa with chips. Mesa's appetizers include additional festive spins on favorites including Queso Fundido featuring shrimp, cheese, tomato, poblano and molcajete salsa and Elote en Tequesuite featuring corn, queso fresco, lime, crema and epazote.

So, you may be wondering now what were we sipping on during our adventure! My husband HAD to go for one of Mesa's signature margarita. Seriously, they are fantastic!

I sipped on a Barbera. I love, love, love to relax with a glass of wine. Such a blessing to be able to sip wine relaxing on a perfect summer evening!

Dinner is Served
We have to admit, dinner was a tough to choice! Thank goodness co-owner Ash gave us some insights into the menu. With such inventive dishes, you will no doubt see a few that pique your interest just like did! I tried the Ahi Tuna and it was one of the most incredible dishes that I have ever eaten. The sesame crust of the tuna is pure genius! The dinner also features celery root, mushrooms, baby bok choy and peppers. The ginger soy sauce is a dream!

My husband ordered the Carne Asada which is another fan favorite dish! The plating is absolutely artful! The beautiful dish is crafted with skirt steak, nopales and beans. This stunning dish earns its place as a fan favorite meal. Absolutely delicious! What we REALLY love at Mesa Urbana is that vegetation is plentiful. So many restaurants skimp on vegetables. It is entirely refreshing the Mesa Urbana expertly weaves them into each dish.

Co-owners Moe and Ash are fantastic and a delight to meet. The staff at Mesa is also incredible. We had so much fun talking to the staff of Mesa Urbana! They added much delight to the evening!

Perfect Date Nights Dining at Mesa Urbana and Wandering Lincoln Park
With its new location in Lincoln Park, Mesa Urbana sits perfectly perched for a lovely date night. With proximity to Lincoln Park Zoo, Lincoln Park Conservatory, the Nature Boardwalk at Lincoln Park Zoo, Lake Michigan views and Alfred Caldwell Lily Pool, there are plenty of options to weave into your perfect date night. There also is a Battle Axe spot and mini golf in the area for something extra to enjoy. We reveled in a walk around Alfred Caldwell Lily Pool. We loved it so much, we circled through the nature haven twice. Splendid! We also ambled along the Nature Boardwalk for more nature serenity.

A Relaxing and Tasty Summer Evening at Mesa Urbana
Escaping to Mesa Urbana in Lincoln Park unfolded a magical date night for us. We began our evening with an uplifting saunter around tranquil Alfred Caldwell Lily Pool and a meander along the Nature Boardwalk. We continued with a fabulous dining experience on Mesa Urbana's delightful patio. We enjoyed relaxing with drinks and exploring a range of flavors. Such a wonderful and relaxing evening away from it all at Mesa Urbana!
