Guardian Angel Bed and Breakfast enchants from the moment you make your way up the drive until the moment you leave. We relished our evening getaway escape enjoying elegant yet comfortable surroundings full of Victorian opulence and frills.

Evening Repose Inside a Breathtaking 1870's Mansion
Regal little cherubs, dreamy arched windows, cheerful harvest decor, and a fancy portico immediately drew us into the magic we would discover at Guardian Angel Bed and Breakfast. The heavenly Cream City brick actually took on a golden hue in the waning sun, adding warmth as we started our adventure.
The grandeur of Guardian Angel Bed and Breakfast captivates in all angles. |
Viewing the 1871 Italianate mansion from a variety of angles captivated us. The cherubs appeared to joyfully announce our arrival. The owner of our home for the evening, Carol, cheerfully greeted us and took us on a tour of the estate.
Golden cherubs joyfully greeted us. |
The Victorian mansion absolutely amazes throughout. Victorians were all about patterns and the Guardian Angel surely has them proudly on display! Carol's attention to detail and knowledge of the Victorian era is rather impressive! She is very sweet and is happy to discuss any of the artifacts she has inside the home.

Victorians definitely enjoyed displaying their wealth and good fortune! Just look at all of the exquisite detail including the intricate wallpaper and painted trim on the ceiling. Carol's assemblage of authentic artifacts is remarkable.
Victorians used pincushions that were also beautiful dolls. |
Successful businessman Hamilton Richardson built the home in 1871. In addition to being a local businessman, Richardson served as a State Senator, a State Representative, and other public service roles. Members of the Richardson family lived in the home until 1934. Then, the home was converted into apartments. Fortunately, the restoration of the home began in 1978. The Richardson Home was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1992.

Ready for an evening repose, the guestrooms at Guardian Angel Bed and Breakfast entice with sumptuous yet comfortable settings. Carol treated us to a peek inside of the most enchanting suite at Guardian Angel Bed and Breakfast. Just look at all of that lace and delicate details!

Next, Carol led us up the grand stairway to our abode for the evening. Our suite was pleasantly sizeable with plenty of space to relax. Carol informed us that our suite is a guest favorite. Immediately, I fell in love with the romantic sweetheart table softly framed by the windows' whispy, lace curtains. Additionally, we enjoyed a respite on our own little porch with sweetheart seating as well.

As we settled in for the evening, we enjoyed resting in our comfortable Tempur-Pedic bed watching movies. We don't often get to do that at home, so a treat indeed!

Beginning the Day with a Lovely Breakfast
My husband and I settled into breakfast inside the dining room lovingly adorned for autumn. Carol immediately served us a wonderful yogurt parfait with fresh berries and a sparkling cranberry juice.
Fresh berries, a parfait and fresh Belgian waffles delighted during our breakfast. |
Next, a fresh Belgian waffle with vibrant strawberries treated us to quite a lovely morning repast. Carol also served us coffee from Door County. To finish, we nibbled on delightful breakfast cookies. We relished a slow-paced breakfast while having a pleasant conversation.
Staying at a bed-and-breakfast treated us to a quiet respite away from it all. The surroundings invited us to truly relax and slow down our pace for our stay. The beauty and elegance found at Guardian Angel Bed and Breakfast really add such a special extra element to a getaway of recharging and relaxing.
