Halloween Fun in the Chicago Suburbs
Spooky season is culminating this weekend with Halloween! Plus, we finally have fall colors! There are some great adventures to enjoy this weekend. Here are my picks:

Ongoing Human + Nature at Morton Arboretum, Lisle, stunning natural sculptures to help connect people with trees, the exhibition includes 5 incredible sculptures, included with normal admission
September 11 - November 7 Richardson Corn Maze, Spring Grove, try weaving through the World's Largest Corn Maze and enjoy fall farm fun, open Thursdays-Sundays and Columbus Day, see website for hours and prices

Ongoing through October 31 Scarecrow Trail, Morton Arboretum, enjoy a trail of scarecrows crafted by local scout troops and organizations, included in admission
Ongoing through October 31 Carol Stream Halloween Decorating Contest: The Carol Stream Halloween Decorating Contest is one of my favorite haunts every Halloween! Entrants really know how to craft spooky, eerie and whimsical Halloween scenes. There will be a map posted to the website in October. The deadline to enter is October 22.
Ongoing through October 31 on Friday and Saturday evenings, Terror in the Timbers, Elgin, 6PM-12AM, drive-through Halloween experience, $65 per car, add-on option of Haunted Hike $25 per car
Ongoing - November 7 Sugar Skull City, Downtown Aurora, exploring looking for beautiful sugar skulls, check for special events and promotions on website, participate in the alebrije hunt
October 13 - January 2, 2022 Par Excellence Redux: The Back 9, Elmhurst Art Museum. This is a fantastic opportunity to experience an interactive exhibit created by local artists. In honor of the original Par Excellence exhibit at The School of the Art Institute, local artists have created 9 unique mini golf holes that you can actually play! To enjoy this exhibit, you do have to reserve a tee time. Please see website for more information and how to book your time.

October 30 BatFest, downtown Batavia, 10AM-2PM, trick-or-treating businesses, pumpkin bowl, BatArt, reptile show, magicians and more
October 30 Fall Tree Fun, Crabtree Nature Center, Barrington, 10:30AM, learn about and see the changes of fall, fall tree themed nature activities, must register, ages 2-6 must be with a caregiver
October 30 Spooky Saturday Main Dempster Mile, Evanston, 11AM-1PM, kids can enjoy showing off their costumes and trick-or-treating businesses on the mile, some will have special treats
October 30 -31 Tractor Drawn Hayrides, Danada, Wheaton, 1PM-3PM, $5 pp for those 5 and up, see website for exact times, no registration needed
October 30 Haunted Wildlife Scavenger Hunt, Willowbrook, Glen Ellyn, 4PM-5:30PM, $5 pp, must register
October 30 Dinner is Served, Crabtree Nature Center, Barrington, 4:30PM, join at the raptor enclosures to learn about resident raptors and what they eat, free
October 30 The Return of Spooky Stories, River Trail Nature Center, 8PM, spooky stories around the campfire are back, spooky night hike, for ages 6 and up, free but you must register
Sunday, October 31
October 31 Giant's Hollow-ween Hunt, Crabtree Nature Center, Barrington, 9AM-4PM, follow the Halloween clues in Giant's Hollow and earn a treat, must register
October 31 Halloween Hop, Naperville, 10AM-12PM, trick-or-treat stores throughout downtown, there will be a trick-or-treat trolley to ride
