A Christmas Story Pop-Up at Hey Nonny in Arlington Heights infuses holiday charm and nostalgia into a favorite Chicago suburban nightspot. We felt totally wrapped up in the holiday spirit from the time we entered until we left during a recent evening out at Hey Nonny.

Hey Nonny blends a live music venue with a bistro featuring midwest comfort food with a twist. The venue is quite a lovely and lively addition to downtown Arlington Heights. A Christmas Story Pop-Up made its debut in 2019 and is back for this holiday season! With this pop-up, Hey Nonny adds more festivity to the downtown area!

Upon entering Hey Nonny, we immediately reveled in a jolly holiday atmosphere! Elements of A Christmas Story nostalgia featured include a Red Ryder BB Gun, pictures from the movie, the leg lamp and more. A Christmas Story plays on a big screen behind the bar during the event. How can you not feel the joy of the holidays while visiting Hey Nonny during the special season!

The entire bistro provides a canvas for fun holiday selfies! How can you resist! We loved posing at the themed stations. The event certainly adds special whimsy during a drink, dinner or brunch at Hey Nonny!

A Flavorful Dinner at Hey Nonny
We soon settled in for a lovely dinner. What a wonderful spot for a little relaxation during a busy week! Hey Nonny has a special A Christmas Story menu featuring themed items including Chinese Christmas Eggrolls, Doggone Turkey and Randy Hates Meatloaf (meatloaf, of course). Plus, there is A Christmas Story Tart and themed cocktails. Hey Nonny's regular menu is available as well, featuring comfort food favorites with a list twist on flavors.

We began our dinner with an Apple Pecan Salad featuring mixed greens, candied pecans, red onions, cranberries, gala apples, crumbled feta and a maple vinaigrette. The salad was absolutely delicious -- and beautiful!
Tip: If you are in Arlington Heights to visit Hey Nonny, there is a lovely light display across the street. Additionally, head to North School Park for what I think is one of the best displays in the suburbs.

Hey Nonny has such an incredible menu making it difficult to decide on what to have for our entrees! My husband is a big taco fan, so he decided to try the Smoked Brisket Tacos. The tacos feature smoked brisket, pico de gallo, smoked cheddar and poblano sauce on flour tortillas. The three tacos are accompanied by grilled veggies. The tacos are quite tasty and colorful as well! Another yummy dish!

For my dinner, I just had to try the Crab Cake! It is actually on the appetizer menu, but I decided to have it for dinner. I am so glad that I did -- absolutely delicious! The remoulade sauce atop the crab cake is divine!
Don't Skip Dessert
As soon as I perused the menu, I knew I would have to try the A Christmas Story Tart. The cranberry -cirtus tart boasts a hazelnut crust. There is just something about tart flavors during the holidays! Something sweet and tart -- perfectly holiday! A nice finish to dinner!

We had such a festive time at Hey Nonny's A Christmas Story Pop-Up! The jovial atmosphere created the ideal atmosphere for just chilling and being in the holiday spirit. I love that Hey Nonny is continuing this event for this holiday season!
