Family Fun in the Chicago Suburbs February 12-13, 2022
February weekends are some of my favorites! There are some great events in the Chicago suburbs this weekend. Here are my picks:

Ongoing Tour the Frank Lloyd Wright House and Studio during the holidays: Every year, the Oak Park home of the famous architect is decked out with period decorations for the holidays. The tree is absolutely not to be missed! Be sure to reserve your tour online. Tours are $20 per person.

Ongoing Visit Oak Park Conservatory for a warm-weather escape and brilliant blooms without leaving the 'burbs. Admission is free, donations are appreciated. While in the area check out the Frank Lloyd Wright Home and Studio and other Frank Lloyd Wright homes.

February 1-28 Chicago's North Shore Restaurant Month -- enjoy special deals from a select group of fantastic Chicago's North Shore restaurants during the month of February.`(Excludes Valentine's Day)
February 1-28 Winter Wonderland at Canal Shores in Evanston with Evanston Made and Downtown Evanston, contribute to this immersive art experience by making your own nature art, 3PM-5PM Saturdays enjoy the sunset at the firepit and see the beautiful local art
February 5 - May 29 Houses of Tomorrow: Solar Homes from Keck to Today, Elmhurst Art Museum, Keck's Glass House of Tomorrow designed for the 1933 World's Fair was the first in the USA and groundbreaking in terms of solar energy, learn about his designs and others taking into account sustainable practices, advanced ticket purchase required, $15 per adult, $12 per senior, kids are free

February 12 Sesquicentennial Winterfest, Wilmette, 9am-4:30pm, ice sculpting, dance demos and more
February 12 Bonsai Silhouette Show, Visitor Center, Cantigny Park, Wheaton, 9AM-4PM, Prairie State Bonsai will be bringing their best trees so that the public can see them as they look in winter, $5 per car parking
February 12 Vintage Inspired Valentines, Elgin History Museum, from 12pm-3pm pop in to make a Valentine
February 12 Winter Exploration Day, Thatcher Woods, River Forest, 12pm-3pm, make a craft, check out animal tracks, go on a scavenger hunt and more, free
February 12 Willowbrook Valentines, Willowbrook, Glen Ellyn, 1PM-2PM, live training sessions, see how the animals are kept safe in winter, make a valentine's gift to give to the animals, $5 pp, must register, ages 12 and up, under 18 must be with an adult
