Ongoing Flourish: The Garden at 50, Chicago Botanic Garden celebrates 50 years, look for special art installations and yellow plants threaded throughout the garden, check for special pop-up events

June 1 - October 31 Alebrijes: Creatures of a Dream World, Cantigy Park, Wheaton, Alebrijes are Mexican folk art sculptures of fantastical creatures, learn about the artists, go on a scavenger hunt for all 48 pieces and more, parking is $10 per car
June 18 - August 14 Nature's Blueprints, Elmhurst Art Museum, an engaging exhibit highlighting nature's resourceful design, includes sensory stations, highlights how architecture uses elements learned from nature, see website for ticketing information

June 17-18 Scottish Festival and Highland Games, Itasca, games, highland dance, dogs of Scotland, men in kilts, genealogy, vendors, food, bagpipes and much more, see website for tickets
June 17 & 18 Naper Nights, Naper Settlement, Naperville, pull up a lawn chair or put down some blankets and enjoy an evening of music, $20 per adult, $15 per child, free for members and those under 4, please reserve tickets online, there will be two beverage tents, local food vendors, kids activity area, Naper Settlement will be on site
June 17-19 RibFest, DuPage Fairgrounds, Wheaton, great food, musical acts and more, see website for tickets

June 18 Juneteenth, Sand Ridge Nature Center, South Holland, 10AM-4PM, celebrate freedom with speakers, entertainment and displays highlighting Black history, arts and culture, free
June 18-19 Farmhouse Tour Dairy Month, Kline Creek Farm, West Chicago, 10AM-4PM, take a farmhouse tour focusing on dairy production and items, $5 suggested donation
June 18 Wheeling Park District Kids Fest, Wheeling, 11AM-2PM, Heritage Park Performance Pavilion, inflatables, airbrush tattoos, entertainment from Wendy D&B, geared to ages 3-10, free
