Admiring Nature's Forces
The sand spit at Seagull Bar State Natural Area stretches before us under the summer sun. |
The size of the bar varies with wave action. We noticed that the waves kept coming further and further in at points along the bar during our visit. The tide ebbed and flowed gently but we did have the feeling that if we lingered too long on the outer reaches of the bar, we would be separated from the mainland by incoming water.
Throughout the beach, we discovered weathered trees in all shapes and sizes. We enjoyed viewing the tapestry of designs they created before us.
