Fire dances along the water under a graceful footbridge during 2021's Lightscape at Chicago Botanic Garden. |
The Fire Garden has long been one of my favorites! This year will feature a new rendering of the striking display. Pictured above is last year's design which highlighted the gentle flow of water below a graceful footbridge. Every year I am captivated by the dancing flames in a unique pattern. The flames add an intriguing fluidity.

This year's magical displays will include new Spark Ballet by the French artist Pitaya. Spark Ballet will feature lanterns both in trees and on the ground. Flickering lights inside the lanterns will appear to be dancing. Sounds pretty fantastic to me! Also new this year is Starscape by Australian artist Mandylights will entice visitors with over 700 handmade acrylic stars as brilliant flashes of color animate up and down a tunnel.
