The weekend is nearly here and this one is full of some really special events, so take a peek at my picks for Valentine's Day weekend:

Through February 12, 2023 Sentrock: The Boy Who Wanted to Fly, Elmhurst Art Museum, the exhibition includes a mural, video projections, a sculpture, paintings, a life-sized bird house and more about the Bird City Saint character and life about Pilsen artist Joseph Perez, included in regular admission
January 20 - February 5 Naperville Restaurant Week -- take advantage of specials and enjoy eating local in Naperville during this special event
Ongoing - March 19 Into the Woods at Paramount Theatre in Aurora, check website for times and ticket prices
Month of February Hygge Fest in Downtown Evanston, enjoy an area of creative events and classes, see website
February 11 - March 26 The Orchid Show: Magnified, Chicago Botanic Garden, enjoy an incredible floral infusion inside Chicago Botanic Garden's greenhouses during the Orchid Show, the show features over 10000 orchid blooms and guests will step inside an orchid, a night show is available on certain nights, see website for ticketing information

February 11 Valentine's Day Mini Golf, Arlington Heights Memorial Library, 10:30AM-12PM, have fun playing Valentine's Day themed mini golf
February 11-12 Norge Ski Jump Tournament, Fox River Grove, 12AM-4PM, gates open at 11AM, enjoy a fun ski jump tournament, grilled food and beverages for purchase, purchase buttons to attend at area merchants or online, see website, $20 pp if purchased in advance, $25 at the door
February 11 Long Grove Cocoa Crawl, 12pm-4pm, four tents with free hot cocoa as you explore town, special tastes and deals at local small businesses
February 11-12 Winterfest, Spring Valley Nature Center, Schaumburg, 12PM-3PM, winter activities, dogsled demo, indoor science activities, s'mores and more $3 pp, $12 per family
February 11 Ice Sculpting, Downtown Evanston, 12PM-2PM, part of Hygge Fest
February 11 Nature Date Night - Romantic Hike, Fullersburg Woods, Oak Brook, hike along lantern lit trails, enjoy roasting marshmallows and hot cocoa, hikes leave at 6PM, 7PM and 8PM, ages 18 and up, $12 pp, must register
February 11 Candlelight Hike, Prairieview Education Center, Crystal Lake, 5PM-9PM, free
Sunday, February 12
February 12 Sunday Stroll, Grassy Lake, Lake Barrington, 9AM-10AM, stroll with a naturalist and learn about the nature of the preserve, free but must register
February 12 Super Bowl Pre Game Hike, Crabtree Nature Center, 10AM, fast paced 3 mile hike to get you moving before the game, free
February 12 Superb Owl Party, River Trail Nature Center, 1:30PM, help celebrate owls with crafts
