Family Fun in the Chicago Suburbs March 11-12, 2023
Between maple tapping and St. Patrick's Day, there is plenty of fun to be had this weekend in the Chicago suburbs! Here are my picks:

February 11 - March 26 The Orchid Show: Magnified, Chicago Botanic Garden, enjoy an incredible floral infusion inside Chicago Botanic Garden's greenhouses during the Orchid Show, the show features over 10000 orchid blooms and guests will step inside an orchid, a night show is available on certain nights, see website for ticketing information
February 4-December 23 Viking's Voyage, Geneva History Museum, learn about the history of the replica Viking ship in Geneva which started as an attraction at the World's Columbian Exhibition in 1893, $5 per adult, $2 kids and seniors, free for members

March 11,12,13 Festival of the Sugar Maples, Coral Woods, Marengo, 10AM-3PM, learn how maple syrup has been made throughout the years with real outdoor demos, registration is required
March 11-12 Make Glass Shamrocks or Flowers, Patterson Glass, Mundelein, 10AM-4PM, $40, please reserve space
March 11-12 Sap's Rising, River Trails Nature Center, Northbrook, 10:30AM and 1:30PM, walk in the sugar maple forest to learn how maple syrup is made, free but must register 847-824-8360
March 11-12 Maple Syrup Hike, Ryerson, Riverwoods, 12pm-2pm, various times to register for, must register, $6 pp, learn how maple syrup is made
March 11-12 Maple Sugaring, Kline Creek Farm, West Chicago, 1PM-4PM, discover how sap becomes suet using tools from the 1890s, $5 suggested donation
