McHenry County Conservation District in Illinois has launched a fantastic program to encourage exploration of their amazing preserves and nature learning this summer called Find Your Wild. The program features visiting a variety of preserves, answering trivia questions, and participating in activities.

How Does It Work?
You will need to download the Goosechase App on your phone (found on iPhone and Android) and create a login. Then, search for the McHenry County Conservation District's experience with code GJZD7J or search "Find Your Wild." Next, follow the directions to join and begin choosing missions. Through the missions, you will be encouraged to check in at a variety of conservation areas and you will no doubt discover some that you were not aware of. Additionally, you will answer trivia questions about the preserves and complete activities.
Oh....and THERE ARE PRIZES!
Stickney Run Conservation Area |
Additionally, there are bi-weekly drawings for a variety of prize baskets. To remain active in the program and be entered in that bi-weekly period's drawing, you must have completed one mission in the app for that two week period. Each of the prize baskets will help you enjoy nature even more this summer!
Find Your Wild is a free program and a great way to learn more about local nature preserves and our environment this summer. Since the program is app based, it is easily portable as you wander and soak in the amazing natural spaces we are fortunate to have nearby. The program started on Memorial Day Weekend and runs through Labor Day Weekend (September 4), so there is plenty of time to Find Your Wild this summer!
