Our adventure along Line Creek Trail wound us through the woodlands providing a launching point to a peaceful Kansas City area hike. For much of its length, Line Creek Trail hugs Line Creek inviting beautiful views and an opportunity to explore Line Creek Double Falls!

During our meander along Line Creek, it was quite hot so we did not explore the trail as much as we would have liked to. We began our adventure at the trailhead at the Line Creek Community Center and quickly found ourselves crossing the creek. Soon, we were within the woodlands spotting some natural trails that spindled off of the main paved trail. Overall the paved trail was pretty easy to navigate but there was slight elevation in places. We followed the paved trail until we heard the rush of cascades.
Interesting Fact: Line Creek Community Center and a portion the Line Creek Trail are within Frank Vaydik Park. An interesting tidbit about Frank Vaydik Park -- it is home to a mini-railroad that runs seasonally!
Uncovering Line Creek Double Falls

A grey, layered rocky creek edge came into view. Turning, we paused watching silver threads of all thicknesses tumbling over two offset layers of rock. The double falls truly are magical.

During our visit, we were able to get a bit closer to the falls. I loved being able to take a peek at the falls at different angles and vantage points. The flow during our visit was quite gentle and soothed us after a long day of travel. However, I imagine that flow fluctuates upon rainfall.
I have read that there is another waterfall along the trail -- Line Creek Third Falls. However, the heat got the best of us and we needed to turn back. We did take our time on our return and did wander some of the natural trail spindles. The spindles we located did guide us up hillier terrain.
Line Creek Trail is yet another wonderful Kansas City hiking trail. The trail is multiuse so you will find bicyclists enjoying it as well. Plus, it is also great for dog friends! A big bonus -- a fabulous Missouri waterfall experience! Line Creek Trail will definitely be on our list on a return trip to Kansas City!
You missed the best waterfall!...you can wade above the best one all summer! Start at pricerite market,head upstream for a quarter mile or less. Can't miss it.

We knew there was another waterfall there but unfortunately, I as explained in the article, we were not feeling well due to the heat and had to cut our trip short. Truly a bummer! Hopefully, we can return and check it out! It sounds amazing from your description!
