The theme of Chicago Botanic Gardens 2024 Orchid Show -- The Orchid Show of Wonders delights guests with whimsical and even at times daring floral designs inspired by the circus and carnivals. The Orchid Show of Wonders engages visitors in a different way than in previous years with playful arrangements inviting curiosity. Come one, come all to my little preview of this year's show:

When I first learned about the concept for this year's show, my mind quickly began to ponder about how exactly would orchids fit into a carnival/circus concept. Upon entering this year's show, I immediately felt captivated admiring theatrical displays of orchids. Once we entered the Big Top, fanciful designs and carnival music beckoned us forward into a magical world.

Marveling at Orchids at the Circus and Carnival
So many recreated carnival and circus favorites amaze throughout the show including the hall of mirrors, a carousel, a Ferris wheel, popcorn stand, and more. As we wandered through the show, we wondered which of our favorites would pop up and how could they be created with orchids?

In my favorite display, orchids blazed above us on a unicycle crossing a tightrope. Pretty cool feature! The acrobatics of this feature entirely popped during our evening visit.

Wandering Through the Ferris Wheel and Hall of Mirrors
The Ferris wheel sparked the delight of childhood. How can you not want to walk through? Making a grand entrance into one of the greenhouses though the Ferris wheel full of lights was so much fun! Of course, The Orchid Show of Wonders includes another carnival favorite -- the Hall of Mirrors! The two designs really infuse so much joy into a winter day!

Enjoying Dazzling Orchids
The Orchid Show, of course, features hundreds of impressive orchid blooms in all shapes, colors, and sizes. One section of the show in particular highlights a wonderful collection of blooms to delight at. Throughout the show, visitors will enjoy taking photos of their favorite blooms and different angles and perspectives.

Important Details About The Orchid Show of Wonders:
- This year's show runs daily 10AM-4PM through March 24.
- Tickets may be purchased online and are $10 per member, $21 per non-member, $7/$14 for kids ages 3-12, kids 2 and under are free.
- Orchid After Hours is a special night showing on February 14, 16, 22 & 29, March 7, 14, 15, 21 & 22. During the night showing, cocktails and snacks will be available for purchase.
- Photographer's Hours February 20 & 27, March 5, 12 & 19, tickets for before or after show, must pre-register
