Soaking Up Stunning Views Hiking the Trails of Natureland Park in Walworth County, Wisconsin

 

Natureland Park offers hikers a spectacular nature respite featuring four trails, Whitewater Lake, springs, wetlands, and woodlands in Whitewater, Wisconsin. On a recent adventure, I planned to just visit Natureland for a quick lunch stop with a view. However, I quickly became so captivated that I had to try out the trails.

Natureland's picturesque landscape quickly enticed me to explore further. So, I eagerly extended my visit in order to enjoy more of the natural treasures of the preserve.

Hiking at Natureland Park

Trailheads can be located near the parking lot. Some sections of trail do feature the rolls of the kettle moraine. Overall, I appreciated hiking in peaceful woodlands as sunlight danced through the canopy.

Of course, I did find a trail that highlighted my favorite -- white pines! I love to walk beneath a crown of pines with their soft needs at my feet. So soothing! I was totally amazed by how tall the white pines of  Natureland Park are.

Natural springs throughout the preserve craft serene scenes. A variety of small footpaths lead off of the main trails often yielding to breathtaking views. If you visit Natureland, don't miss out on these smaller footpaths. In winter months, the Prairie Trail in particular is perfect for cross country skiing and snowshoeing.

I plan to return to Natureland Park this summer and wander more of the trails. I am entirely enamored with the picturesque scenery of this new-to-me hiking discovery and look forward to future visits.
